As many of you know, we have been apart from our singer Jordan, since August of last year. Even though our ability to play shows has been stripped from us since then, our songwriting and our drive to grow in the ways of rock and metal other heavy things has not. Therefore, henceforth, concordingly, bravo bravo echo charlie!, we feel that it is finally time to unveil our current plans:

1. The singer search is officially on, as it has been for a few months.

2. Because our newer material has been influenced more than ever by metal, we will be *gasp* leaving behind the Bilateral name.

3. All new material will now be penned under the name 7 Horns 7 Eyes. Curious about the name? Want to hear new music, minus a new vocalist? Check out our new Myspace:

7 Horns 7 Eyes

We are excited about our new direction, and we are confident that you will still be able to hear some "Bilateral moments" shining through in our new music.

Thank you, sincerely, for the years of support.

2006 has much change in store for Bilateral, much of which we will be announcing in the near future, but it's all for the best and we are EXCITED about what's to come!

At last, we've grabbed the reins of the Bilateral Myspace and are finally giving it proper attention. Click here to go to our page!
ALSO, we have made available another new song for preview and download, "Escape", both on Myspace and Pure Volume. ...rumor has it that yet another song may be surfacing soon!?

NEW MUSIC ONLINE! That's right, we're letting one song out of the bag early. Just head on over to our Pure Volume page, where the song "Dead End" can be heard streaming or can even be downloaded! And, we would certainly love to hear any feedback that you may have, so please direct your comments to theband@bilateralmusic.com. Thank you.

As we recently revealed, We are officially apart from Jordan until December. However, this does not mean that the Bilateral camp will be inactive for three months! As you read this, recordings of five new songs are in the works, with the drums and vocals complete. (Yes, the vocals were done "out of order", but with a singer who was leaving town so quickly, it was our only option). We worked many hours on the vocals, and you will surely be pleased with the result! Also, to our delight, the drums sound quite massive, as their complete sound leaves very little to be desired. Just wait and hear for yourself!
In just a matter of days, the guitars are scheduled to be layed down, and we've got quite a few recording tricks up our sleeve that we expect will make them sound as huge as possible. If you haven't noticed yet, the goal for the overall sonic quality of these recordings would include many words such as "huge", "massive", "big", "epic", "strong", etc. Be ready to hear a bigger, fuller Bilateral than ever before.
Rest assured, these recordings will not take an entire year to complete, as our EP did, so you will not have to wade through months of news updates that hype up something that is not really on the verge of coming to your stereo. You will definitely hear these new songs long before Jordan returns to Seattle in December.
That's all for now! Thanks for the support.

[ 7.26.05 ]
Notable news:
-Tomorrow, we begin three days of drum tracking for new recordings! We're aiming for 5 or 6 songs. It remains to be seen whether or not we're going to release this new material in a form similar to our self-titled EP, but you can be sure that it will, in some way, be readily available to all. Expect to hear some new tunes as well as some spiffed-up versions of a couple older songs!
-"Shadows of the Rain". Yes, despite the recent lack of updates, it is indeed a real song, and the recording is essentially finished! Expect to hear it soon.
-After graduating high school last month, our lovely singer Jordan concluded that he just couldn't turn down a hefty vocal performance scholarship to California's Biola University. In approximately 4 weeks, he'll be off to California for the schoolyear. This does not mean that he is no longer a member of Bilateral, but quite frankly, none of us really know what exactly this distant relationship with our lead vocalist is going to lead to.
-August 8th, Studio Seven. This will be our last show with Jordan, until we'll likely play a flurry of shows in December when Jordan returns to Seattle for his Christmas break. It would be greatly appreciated if you would plan to attend this "last" show, as we fully intend to make it a memorable one.
Thanks for checking in.

Our big show at The Moore was a great success, and we would like to thank all the music fans who came out to the show, bought a CD, or showed us their support in one way or another. We couldn't have asked for a more memorable experience, and we would especially like to thank Michael Shrieve for allowing us to be a part of an event that he is so clearly passionate about, as well as Alan White for his time and highly regarded mentorship. You are the kind of musicians we aspire to be, and we have much respect for both of you. And of course, we also owe thanks to Ryan Leyva, Vicky Lee, Carlene Brown, the whole Moore Theater stage and sound crew, KONG TV 6/16, and everyone else who was involved with making the experience possible. We value the time that we were able to spend in your care and we hope to work with each of you again someday.

[ 4.21.05 ]
CORRECTION: We were wrongly informed of the host network for tomorrow's live performance. Be sure to tune into KONG 6/16, NOT Q13. We're sorry for the mix up.

Big news!
THIS COMING FRIDAY MORNING, April 22nd, be sure to tune into Q13 Fox News This Morning to see Bilateral perform live for the show, from the Moore Theater! What more can be said!? Tune in at 7:30AM! DON'T MISS IT!

[ 4.6.05 ]
Greetings, Bilateral enthusiasts!
Over the last few weeks, we've been hard at work in preparation for our performance at the Moore Theater, which will take place later this month. We've spent time with Michael Shrieve, original drummer for Santana, focusing our music to an even sharper degree, which has been both productive and enjoyable. We also pounded out recordings of two of our songs- an updated version of "Transparent", as well as the first recording of our song "Sphere of Influence". We can't wait to get these out to you all!
As for More Music at the Moore, we are playing two consecutive days in a row: April 22nd at noon, a free matinee for middle school students, organized through local school districts, and the following evening at 7:30PM, in the "main event" for the public. We'd love to see all of you and a friend there, as this is an incredble opportunity for us, as well as an incredible event altogether. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, but you can also purchase tickets direct from the band, which is preferred. Contact the band soon if you are interested!
All More Music details are posted on the shows page. Don't miss out on this!

[ 2.16.05 ]
We're proud to announce that we have been added to the artist roster for the guitar string company Curt Mangan. Very shortly, they will be the choice strings of Bilateral, and any fellow guitarists will want to check out their quality for yourself.
The recording and production process for "Shadows of the Rain" is still rolling smoothly, and more confidently and excitedly than ever, we can promise you that the beauty of the final result will be well worth the wait.
AND, last but certainly not least, we are overjoyed to announce that we will be playing at Seattle's famous Moore Theater in late April. All the details will be posted online shortly, so be sure to keep checking back.
That's all for now!

[ 2.1.05 ]
A big thanks to all who came out the release show, making it a success for us. We've got some more dates pending right now, as well as the "Shadows of the Rain" recording on the way, but in the meantime, enjoy some pictures from the release show, located on the bottom row. More news soon!

[ 1.13.05 ]
An important reminder for all: Tuesday, January 25th, is the date of the official release show for our EP. We're incredibly anxious, and we hope that you're anxious as well. Tell your friends, tell everyone...let's pack this thing! $7, 7PM, 110 S. Horton St. Seattle, WA 98134. See you there!

[ 12.30.04 ]
In search of the latest Bilateral news? You've come to the right place. As of now, we've got three important things that we're ready to inform you of:
1) We're eager to have some sort of official release show for our EP, and due to the fact that a release show is much overdue, it's looking like we're going to call our January 25th show the official release. As if that isn't reason enough for you to come on out for a man-sized feast of Tuesday night rock, there's more...
2) You best be ready for a new song! It remains untitled, and is yet on the verge of completion, but we are extremely happy with the way we've tied it all together, and we're very excited to share it. You'll hear it on the 25th.
3) Although Aaron and Jordan's mellow tune "Shadows of the Rain" is fairly unknown to many Bilateral listeners, many of those who have heard it would argue that it's one of Bilateral's best kept secrets. We'll leave that up to you to decide for yourself, but just as promised, the recording process for the song is well underway. We're handling the whole thing ourselves, and we're comfortably confident that you'll be much impressed with the final result.
See you on January 25th!

[ 12.10.04 ]
It's update time!
To the disappointment of all of us here, between school, jobs, and perhaps even a little bit too much Halo 2, Bilateral activities have been pretty mellow over the last month or so. However, with the holidays here and an ever-growing urge to rock, we're looking to get things kicked back up a few notches and finally pry ourselves away from our recliners, so that we can get out and play some shows...preferably, lots of shows. As of this moment in time, we've got a confirmed show at Studio Seven on January 25th, as well as a couple other shows pending in the near future. Don't miss 'em. And for those of you who are still wanting to get your hands on an EP, they of course will be available at any show for the truly economical price of only $5.
In further news, tracking should begin next week on a recording of Aaron and Jordan's sappy opus "Shadows of the Rain". Once it's done, look for it to download and enjoy on PureVolume.
And, last and also certainly least, Chris and Aaron have taken on the momentious task of creating what Aaron is calling "the ultimate techno song ever". The official title of the masterpiece-in-progress is "Space Dream", and so far, the lyrics range from unicorns to streams to intergalactic rainbows...whatever it takes to really create that floaty, vague techno mood. Maybe, just maybe, once the song has been completed, you'll be able to find it online for a short time.
More news soon!

[ 10.14.04 ]
Finally, a reason exists to quell your condition of sheer rage and bitter impatience: the EPs have arrived. Yes, you've read right- they're here, and your year of waiting is over. As promised, a release show is in the works and will be announced shortly. Start preparing your mind for all that's to come!

[ 9.18.04 ]
Behold! All ye who have waited ever so patiently: the EP order is finally out and the manufacturing/shipping/arriving in our posession/rock you like a hurricane process has begun! (Yes, get excited Weiford, because I just quoted the Scorpions, because this news is that exciting). And rock fans, what goes hand in hand with the arrival of a CD? ...lots of things, but specifically, a release show! Stay posted for a release show announcement, because it undoubtedly is coming and will certainly be a show that no true rock fan will choose to miss.
The tension is building... See you soon.

[ 9.10.04 ]
Despite the fact that 99.88946% of people who attend import car shows are into hip hop and/or could care less about rock bands when a Honda Civic is nearby, we had a genuinely fun time playing and pretending like we fit into the whole subculture. Thanks to Frank at Battle of the Imports for extending us the invitation, and thanks to Blane for being nice guys. ALSO, head over to the photos section, where the bottom row will score you a peak at few photos from the show. Credit Laura Redfield for those.
And in EP news...a manufacturing order will be placed within the next week, and this is a solemn promise. ...don't loose hope.

[ 8.13.04 ]
We've finally posted an update over in the shows section. We're expecting this one to be a great experience, so be sure not to miss out! See you there...

[ 8.12.04 ]
In honor of our fast-approaching inaugural release- which you can expect to be available before September -we've posted yet another track for you to enjoy at our PureVolume site. With great relief and joy, we unveil to you "In This Darkness".

[ 7.13.04 ]
Just as promised, the EP is fully mastered- all audio preparation is COMPLETE. Now all that remains is the preparation of the artwork, which our very own Aaron Smith is hard at work at and has nearly completed. From there, a 1,000 CD order will be placed, and in approximately two weeks Bilateral will be fully prepared for a release show. It's about time, huh?
Stay in tune.

[ 7.7.04 ]
At last, we can say with full honesty that the EP is entirely mixed. And despite months of what has seemed like inactivity on the EP front, on Thursday morning in just ONE DAY we now have a mastering appointment with Rick Fisher of Seattle's respected RFI/CD Mastering. We expect this final stage to sweeten the sound of the already crisp recording, and prepare it go anywhere that it may.
Expect an EP release date to be announced in the very near future.

[ 5.30.04 ]
Thanks to all who came out to see us at the Elks Lodge yesterday, and a special thanks to all of our first-timers who stayed around to see our entire set. Much gratitude to you all.
Also, be sure to click here to see 20 new rockin' photos from the show. (They're on the bottom two rows).

If you tried to visit the site anytime over the last few days, you undoubtedly would have found yourself unable to log on. We apologize for this; it turns out that the credit card we had been billing our site to had expired (without a renewal), and so we needed to re-host it. But fear no longer, because we're now back to normal.
Finally, some EP news: we're only a few small tweeks away from going out for mastering! We're excited to get this thing done, as we're sure you as well are excited to hear it. Expect to find a preview online in the near future.
And, last but not at all least, don't forget to come out to our upcoming shows. Get all the details here.

[ 4.22.04 ]
Finally, we've organized a couple upcoming shows- be sure to check them out here. A few more may yet be on the way as well, so don't forget to check back for possible news on those.

[ 4.14.04 ]
Hey everyone, we just thought we'd fill you in on what things look like for Bilateral right now.
Due to busy schedules, the EP still isn't finished. But, rest assured it certainly is still rolling...just at a slower pace than we had anticipated. Upon the completion of the EP, we will immediately be mailing it out to venues all around the Pacific Northwest so that we can organize a solid tour, which would take place sometime during the summer. It remains to be seen exactly how many shows the tour will consist of, but we're aiming to be out for at least two weeks. We're more than ready to expand our fan base out of Washington.
We also may be going into the studio soon to record our new song "Sphere Of Influence". It wouldn't be added to the EP track listing, but it would be available online for download.
Other than that, we've just been practicing lately and playing around with more new material. A few shows may be brewing as well, which will be posted here once they become official. Be sure not to miss them!
The EP is on the way, we promise. We're as eager as anyone to get it out! Just hang in there a bit longer...
-Aaron

[ 3.21.04 ]
Thanks to all of you who showed up to support us at the EWHS battle of the bands. And, an extra special thanks goes out to all of our first-time audience members who gave us a chance and ended up getting into our music and staying around to see our set through. We definitely felt very appreciated, and we can't thank you enough for that. You certainly weren't unnoticed...
Also, be sure to drift over to the photos page, where some pictures from the show are up.
-Aaron

[ 2.23.04 ]
The sound quality of this forthcoming Bilateral EP is utterly amazing, thanks to the audio engineering expertise of our very own Josh Penner. It's sounding far better than we ever imagined it would, and all of us here in the Bilateral camp are more anxious than ever to get this thing finished and released for you all to enjoy. Its arrival is just a short time away now...so get ready.
We've also been busy working on some new material, which we're all really happy with. Our latest song, which as of yet is still untitled, is the first we've written and arranged almost entirely as a band. It has a catchy rhythm, it's powerful, and it will surely be in the set at our next show.
So, keep checking back for EP news, as we promise that there will certainly be some in the near future. Thanks for the patience...
-Aaron

[ 1.4.04 ]
Welcome to the newly renovated Internet home of Bilateral! Be sure to look around the site and check out the new layout. And, feel free to e-mail the band to give them your thoughts on it.
No, Bilateral hasn't forgotten about their forthcoming EP. Currently, the recordings are nearing the end of the mixing phase, getting some final tweaking and balancing. Keep up the patience for just a bit longer, because Bilateral promises that you won't be disappointed with the quality of final result!
And lastly, it looks like a few shows may be coming up in the near future, so keep checking back for all the info as it becomes available. ...perhaps an EP release show!?
